Recommended Posts

I started working on this one while waiting on some tamiya touch up paint.  It is moving along pretty quickly.  Here is some pics.

Top fuselage is Model Master Gunship Gray.  The tail and nose are MM Neutral Gray.  Bottom fuselage is Tamiya Light Ghost Gray (First time using Tamiya Lacquers and they are nice).

I apologize if this is not the correct spot in the forum, but since this is a F-16 group build, is there any one that might be able to point me in the direction where I might find Afterburner Decal Sheet AD48-034.

I have checked the usual places, but NO Joy.

Thank you in advance.

Afterburner decals are out of business, so your most likely source is probably someone who has a copy and would be willing to part with it.  You can post your request in the Buy and Sell forum and hope somebody might see it.

Look very good mate.

Bullseye produce some beautiful sheets, and for F-16s a pair of great Desert Storm sheets, unfortunately I'm a 72nd guy and Bullseye work 1/48 decals...a real shame for me, as I'll buy almost all the jet decals it do

Thank you Jeff.  Bullseye looks to be making a set I could use, but I don't know how to contact them.  I'm no longer on FB, and won't rejoin just for that.

Here is a link to Bullseye decals on Sprue Brothers.  HTH

Finished this one up a few days ago.  Here are the final bits of work and the finished product.

Gloss coat with future getting ready for decals.

Decaling in progress, may be even completed (I don't remember🤔)

After the decals were on I gave it another shot of future and then I applied a panel line highlight using Tamiya panel line highlighter.  I used Dark Gray on the bottom and Light Gray on the upper surface.

Here are pics of the finished model.  This a F-16D from the 184th TFTS, it was a training unit for ANG pilots.  Time frame was the mid 80's.  This plane was painted up as tribute to the 184th Maintenance Squadron.  As a training unit I put practice bombs and sidewinders on it.

Since I had just finished a Tamiya F-16 as a Thunderbird, I had some parts left over from it.  I used the pylons and wing tanks from the Tamiya kit, they looked a little more detailed.

Hi Geoff,

Do you have the original decal from the Hasegawa 1/48 F-16D kit? It comes with a SHARK MOUTH decal? I am very interested to purchase it because I can’t find this kit anymore.

Yes please, if you have it. Let me know how much you want for it and I’ll take care of it with PayPal.

Yes I have it.  it is a tad yellowed, but nothing that can't be remedied by sun exposure. If you're fine with that.  Where are you located?
