Squizzy Taylor
G’day all, I’ve always been looking through the Arc website and forum, for at least 15 years now, but this is my first In progress thread! After a big family move, it was time to start building again, and I’m trying a switch from 1/32 to 1/48 scale, and I’m a big US Navy fan, so I’m trying the Super Hornet from Meng. The aircraft I was interested in was the VFA-137 Kestrels with the digital camouflage from DXM. Long since sold out, so I tried the forum here, and within 48 hours a member had gotten back to me, I’d payed for them and they were in the mail! Thanks Tigerfan112!! I have a fare selection of aftermarket parts for this build, but not quite everything I’m after, so I’m starting with a few smaller sub assemblies, and a lot of riverting and scribing! The details are good, but I think that detail will be lost with a few coats of paint. Boring work, but worth the effort. Thanks for looking 👍
ALF18
I'll be watching this with some interest. I have a couple Super Hornets to build, so I'm curious how this goes. I also have some Quinta Studios cockpit stuff. I've used one set on a MiG 21, and I absolutely love its ease of use and how it looks way better than I could ever paint a cockpit. I want to buy this set from them as well. You sure have chosen a challenging paint job for your first WIP! Frankly, that digital camo just scares me. ALF
Thadeus
Nice project. I'm pulling up a chair. There is a Hornet's Group Build in a few days (just sayin').
