Why not start with 1/48, Hasegawa?

Hasegawa's primary market is Japan and 1:48 scale is a size most Asian modelers dont have the luxury of space to model in.

I'm sure that will be on the dockett for Academy next year. 😉 they already have the F15K as a base it would just be a small sprue of extra parts to make it look right.

Like other people said, 1/72 is the preferred scale for the Japanese market and they already did the SG version which contains most of the parts/sprues needed for the EX. While they haven't made the SG parts or boxing in 1/48 scale.

Could any expert here share a little info on the additions/changes of this EX particularly on the exterior?

You can check out the differences by comparing the advanced F-15 BAM sets, but basically it's mostly in the cockpit (IPs and coamings, although I doubt Hasegawa will change their coamings 🙂)

Just got one, cockpit coamings and panel detail are upgraded. External differences on the tail fairings, engine exhaust, tail ECM bumps and front upper fuselage near the canopy. External antenna detail is different. conformal fuel tank pylons difference  Sadly no new outer wing pylons were included.

Simple re-issue of their F-15SG with new decals.

Nope the panels are just "new decals" and they require you to scrape off the standard F-15E panel details to apply. The coamings are the same standard F-15E coamings, not the new more faceted ones for the front and shorter coaming for the WSO. Look for photos or the BAM conversion set in 1/48 to see the difference.
