roym
Hey folks. Just a public service announcement. I ordered some model aftermarket items from a shop in Ukraine. I found the link to the items and shop on scalemates. Mostly stuff that wasn't available elsewhere and a few vac canopies that are, just to fill the pack. To be honest, I wasn't expecting it to arrive with all that is happening. I also figured if it didn't, at least the guy would have a few euros to use as he saw fit. I certainly felt he had higher priorities than filling my order for bits for (what are effectively toy) planes. To my surprise, the package landed safe and sound at my door today, despite Irish customs best efforts to intercept (and open) the package. Delighted for 2 reasons, 1 I have nice detail items for my planned B-1 build, 2 more importantly this may be a sign that life (in some parts at least) in Ukraine may actually be returning to something approaching normal. I can only hope... And if you see something you like from a Ukraine based shop, especially hobby.dn.ua, take a chance. I'm glad I did. ESzczesniak
I too ordered a couple Reskit items. They took 5-6 weeks, but arrived safely. Unfortunately, I'm not sure life is very normal at all in the Ukraine. I was torn ordering them. On the not to order side, it seems silly to bother people stuck in war with something as frivolous as model parts. For ordering, I was happy to give some money to them personally, and their economy. Wish I knew what was the best answer.
roym
Yes I was torn too. The same way. Also I even felt a bit guilty that they arrived. I suppose we are still supporting them either way.
ALF18
Don't feel torn at all. They appreciate the business, and need it to survive. I ordered $100 worth of Quinta Studios stuff from them. Even if it's Russian-supplied, they were quite happy to sell their in-inventory items to me. I received this email back from the owner of plastic-models-store.com, after I inquired about their ability to fill my order. This was from early April. A few weeks later, they said they were reopening, and would ship soon. Thank you for your message and support. You can't imagine how important every message of support. About Quinta. We started to work with them in December 2021. Of course now they are banned by us and we will never deal with them. All stock we have now - this is the last quinta products that left. Our business is OK, we plan to get back to work in 2 weeks. Ukrainian army counterattacks ruzzians near Kyiv. Two of my managers went to sign up for the Kiev Territorial Defense Units. They were not accepted, as there were too many volunteers and there were no places and equipment. They were put in a queue. Every order helps us to keep in business. Because I'm as an owner keep paying my team even when we stopped our sales from Feb 24. We need to support each other. So if you would like to make an order - you can do this now and it will be shipped soon. If you would like to know the situation from inside, I will tell you more: The most important thing for us is military assistance. We still have poor control over the sky. We have very few fighters and air defense systems like the S-300 left. On land, we defeat the ruzzians. But we need help with the sky. Anti-ship missiles are also needed, since Russian terrorists fire a lot of ballistic missiles at our cities from the sea. We will not surrender and we will win anyway, but without this help it will take longer and claim many more civilian lives. As you can see, the Russian army is an army of marauders and thieves. And these are not empty words. I personally know this from the stories of my wife's father, who is still under occupation since February 26. Their village is located 22 miles north of Kyiv. The Russians left their village two days ago. Before leaving, they buried the corpses of their soldiers under the forest and took carpets, TVs and other valuables from empty houses. There are also a lot of audio intercepts where Russian soldiers communicate with their wives and mothers. They tell them how much money they were able to steal, how they steal sneakers, clothes, perfumes, blenders and teapots from Ukrainian homes. This is not an army. This is a shame for the whole world. We Ukrainians will rid the whole world of ruZZia and push back their army decades ago. ruzzia will no longer pose a threat to the world order. The main thing is to help us with weapons. Our country is invincible! We will bury all ruzzians into our fertile soil. This autumn we will have gorgeous harvest! Artem Slava Ukraini!
rightwinger26
I ordered a few kits from Dora Wings. They have a banner at the top of the website that essentially says all funds from sales go to an account of the Ukrainian Army. I ordered in mid-March maybe, they haven’t gotten here yet, but I really don’t care when or if they do, it’s seems like a small thing to do.
nspreitler
I ordered a couple sets of Foxbot decals a month or so ago on eBay. I figured if they shipped great, and if not it was a donation. They now show as shipped, so maybe they will show up, but if not I’m fine with that too.

I was scrolling through Scalemates last month, looking at kits from ICM and noticed that one of their offerings was marked as "available" from Plastic-Model-Store.com The "Latest News" section of their website had recently been updated with a "We are opened!" blog... you can read it here: LINK So I placed an order for the kit I wanted, along with a couple of aftermarket bits, all from Ukrainian companies. When will I get the shipment? Dunno'. Doesn't matter. Heck I'll probably buy from them again.
cruiz
They are trying to put their economy in motion, so I believe any business they can make adds to it; I think that, aside from the monetary aspect, the sense of returning to normalcy through work could help. This past month, I've ordered directly from some Ukrainian manufacturers and added at least one item to the cart, which I indicate in the shipping instructions not to be sent and to keep as a donation to them. Maybe not the most efficient way to do it, but at least one of them told me that it would be used to buy medical kits. None of the orders has arrived so far, but I equally don't care; I'll be buying more from them.
ST0RM
I ordered a set of decals from a company in Iran, back in Feb. They never arrived, so I'm assuming the post office or customs confiscated them.
ElectroSoldier
Ive not had a problem ordering from Ukraine myself. All I bought met with delays but all was delivered.
Raceaddict
Just got an email from PM Store this morning: Quote Slava Ukraini, ! That's me again! Artem from PM-Store. You haven't heard from me for a long time. Now there will be more text than usual, but I have to share with you what we have going on. You may already know, but less than a month ago we returned back to Kyiv and started returning to work after two months as refugees. Early in the morning of February 24, our entire team woke up very early from the sounds of explosions and sirens. And instead of getting ready as usual and going to a cozy office, we were forced to flee the city. All this time we have spent in terrible anticipation and with incredible faith in the Ukrainian armed forces. Several guys from our office went to sign up as volunteers to the army, but they said that there were so many applicants to fight with ruzzians that there were not enough weapons and ammunition for everyone. They were put on a waiting list and sent home. All this time, our team has kept in touch with you through messages. We are sincerely grateful that you agreed to wait for orders that we did not have time to send before the start of the war. And we are especially grateful to all those who continued to place orders in the store, not even knowing if we could ship your order and when. I am grateful to you for the orders, where you indicated in the comments: Do not send order - go buy Bullets. Every dollar of yours went to support our team and volunteer expenses for the army and the treatment of wounded soldiers. Thanks to the courage of our soldiers, the consolidation of all Ukrainians and your incredible support, we are defeating this army of murderers, marauders and thieves. Now, finally, we can safely say - the Russian crazy bear got in the teeth! And of course: Russian warship go f*** yourself. Despite the difficult situation on the border of Ukraine, we continue to work hard for you! And today we are launching the first sale since January with an 8% discount coupon for subscribers. Support Ukraine and buy the best Ukrainian model kits at a discounted price. As before, your parcels are dispatched twice a week. Approx delivery time not is a bit longer and takes 3-4 weeks. Stay safe and build mоdels! To Russians - don't build models, build democracy! As was said last week... don't feel torn. 👍

parche
Just got two submarine kits from Mikro-Mir just a few days ago. They have taken about a week to get to me before, now, roughly three weeks. Dave
fasteagle12
I'll keep my fingers crossed. Last week I ordered a kit from a shop in Keiv. The status shows it was shipped.
Gwen Phoenix
Buying from any manufacturer in Ukraine means helping them out. But it's also a very good opportunity to let them know how much different people in the world support their struggle, even when burdened with having to live in countries ruled by fools/buffoons who are biased towards Mr Putin's propaganda. It was quite a relief for the person who took my order at ResKit to learn that the great majority of people in this country is against the Rusky invasion, even though the country is ruled by a mentally deranged she-crook and her sorry puppet. Not to get political about it; you know who those are. Cheers, Gwen
Andrew D. the Jolly Rogers guy
I had ordered some metal MiG-3 exhausts from Ukraine before the war broke out, knowing it would take about 5 weeks to make and then ship (they're made to order). Funny being caught between wondering if your stuff is gonna get here, and yet knowing the real concern should be for the human beings there who make and send the things in the first place. Little realization finally set in that if the stuff made it here, then at least the people on the other end probably, hopefully, are ok, and glad for something "normal" to pursue in life. Raceaddict
An update from PM Store in Kyiv: Quote Slava Ukraini, ! That's Artem from PM-Store. It's time to take stock for now. Now there will be again a little more text than always. So, we are back and have been working for a month and a half. During the war, the Ukrainian hobby world had losses too. The Bad News: 1. One manufacturer from Kharkov, who produces figures in 1/72, said that part of the injection molds of his brands was lost forever. It was all the fault of a russian rocket artillery shell that flew into his garage, where the molds were stored. His brands are Alliance, Red Box, Orion 2. From a fragment or ruzzian rocket, the main artist of the brand Roden was killed in Bucha. This was a great loss for the brand owner as he was a very close friend of his. Perhaps their hit Boeing RC-135 Rivet Joint was his last drawing. 3. We also lost two brands that ended up in the occupied city of Kherson. The Orel brand, which produced paper modeling kits, has been completely stopped. The owner was forced to leave the city and leave the production. The same fate with the brand of resin accessories Kirrey. 4. The Miniart brand was forced to flee the Russian occupation for the second time. And now they are moving production to Poland. In this regard, there will be no new products and production of old models in the coming months, and we (like others) will only sell leftovers. The Good News: 1. So far, 19 people have taken part in a charity event in our store. $570 has been collected and it has already been donated to the fund, where we help the neighbors from my house and their units that are fighting now. I know these people personally. Thanks to everyone. You will not believe it, but in addition to military ammunition, we even buy socks and underwear. If you want to join - you can purchase this product. 2. Delivery from Ukraine is working better than we expected and getting better. We can share terms: Germany, France, UK, and other EU - 12-14 days USA - 14-21 days Record holder - delivery to the Czech Republic - 7 days. Of course, not all parcels are delivered in such terms, but we can be sure that delivery will not take ages. 3. We invest in inventory. We decided to support our Ukrainian producers with our orders and thereby expand our stocks. The restocking process will now take less time. By the way, subscribe to our Facebook channel - we share very useful articles on modeling there. We will be glad to see you among our subscribers. And on our YouTube channel, we are making unpacking videos of the latest "hit" new kits. See you, friends. Stay safe and build mоdels! To russians - don't build models, build democracy! I can't help but respect the tenacity. Edited June 9 by Raceaddict
ALF18
Just got my little envelope from the Plastic Models Store in Kyiv. Three Quinta Studios cockpit decals. They arrived in great shape, well packed, with a nice little business card inside. Nice to see they are still in business. I will definitely order from them again soon. Raceaddict
My order from Plastic Model Store arrived this morning. Ordered April 28th Shipped May 17th (waited for restocked items) Arrived at my office June 20th. 👍 I'll have to open it up and check everything out later today, but the packaging is solid, so I see no reason to be concerned with anything on that front. chukw
Fresh from Ukraine! I ordered these some weeks ago when Wingsy announced that they were still kickin' and shipping kits. The outer box was kinda dinged, but the kits are immaculate. Cardstock box tops with stapled corners, corrugated bottoms with a folding lid that keys into the front sides. All have an etched fret, comprehensive decals, beautiful instructions and lovely sprues chock full of detail. The 109 and Sonia have canopy masks, and the 109 has a beautiful full color insert of the color options, while the Claude has an option of a transparency for the instrument gauges as well as decals. Highly recommended.
