F-15 STOL/MTD Conversion

Recommended Posts

My next project is converting a Hasagawa F-15E to an F-15 STOL/MTD using the BAM Models conversion set.  I will also be stuffing an Aries F-15E cockpit into this model.  Also using Caracal decals, PlusModels boarding ladder, Quickboost ACES II seats and North Star Models wheels.  This is where I’m currently at….fuselage is all buttoned up.  Forward canard shoulders and actuators are in place, as are the fairings to place the 2D nozzles-going from a round hole to a square hole!

Looking very nice. Never thought the canards were F/A-18 elevators.

Thank you Sir!  I wasn’t aware that they used F/A-18 canards until I got the conversion set in my hands!

Small update on the F-15 STOL/MTD….I was a little worried about getting the colors right on this aircraft.  I just recently switched my choice of paints from Model Master enamels to MRP.  So I did some preliminary painting on the forward canard and horizontal stab to check the colors……very happy at this point on how it turned out!  MRP 004 is the base white, MRP 041 is the red and MRP 384 is the blue.  On the blue, I didn’t think that the blue was dark enough out of the bottle so I darkened it with some MRP black and I think it’s dead on to my eye!

Thanks for looking…..more to follow!

PS I totally fell in love with MRP, they're so nice to spray

Best paint I’ve ever worked with, and this is only my second build using them!

Awesome - will follow this one with interest.

Thanks Kursad,

I just finished my F-15EX and have to tell you your decals are excellent to work with.  Really looking forward to getting the markings on this one too!  Keep up the great work…..really looking forward to purchasing your F-22 sheets as soon as they are available!
