S-3A Fan Blades

Ok....I'm building the Italeri 1/48 S-3A Viking. I'm struggling with getting the fan blades to look as real as possible. Perfect example is the S-3A Viking that Peri's models built on YouTube. Amazing build by the way. 

 

I’m wondering what techniques and paint you guys use to get large intake fan blades perfect. (S-3....A-10....etc...) Thanks!

Just reviewed the video. I dont think those are stock intake parts. The detail looks too sharp. 
But he looked to have added a wash or shadowing effect to make the individual bladed pop.

Dont bother with the kit parts.

Guys...I'm after how you paint and detail the fan blades. I already have the after market offerings. Any painting techniques would be most helpful. Thanks.

Paint them an appropriate metallic color...steel, aluminum etc. and flow a dark wash over them when the paint is dry.

 

Could also dry brush a lighter metallic color over the tips of the fan blades.
