1:144 F-14 ejection seat handles

Any of you small scale builders have a recommendation for how I might scratch build the head-rest ejection seat handles?

 

I tried to ring wire and cut paper but didn’t like the results.  Hoping there’s an alternate method or technique.

I used very fine wire. I wrap it around a toothpick because the tapered tip lets me chose the diameter and can be slipped off easily.  I paint it yellow and apply the black stripes with a fine Micron technical pen. Your first tries will certainly be too big, but keep trying.

 

This is a seat from a 1/144 Revell F-104G, but the principle is the same.

Thank you sir, but I'm going to have to practice quite a bit more.  I wasn't able to get the rings to work anywhere nearly as well as was worth adding to my build.  But you certainly gave me good advice.  Love the templates too.

1/144 is a pretty small scale for these.   Have you tried wrapping black&yellow thread and coating with a clear glue?
