C-141B Tail Band Question

That would be the McGuire AFB tail band, as seen here:

As the C-119 design is pretty central, I'd suggest it's prior to the addition of the base name, as seen here (link to copyrighted pic):

The band was later stylised as well as having McGuire added:

:doh: I knew that the base was named for him - saw the twin boom arrangement and wrongly assumed it was a C-119...

....knowing the 438th MAW was originally the 438th TCG here in the UK during WWII, I was only thinking of transports...

....just looked up the unit's history, and turns out they never flew Boxcars!

Thanks to all..! It looks like at the time it only had the P-38 on it... Maybe the “McGuire” was added along with the split end on the banner later?
