halus
So the current livery, which overall grey (FS number) is it? It has been suggested to me FS26375. This is also the underside colour on the CF-18, though in flat finish.
barkin mad
Supposedly it is 26173, if it's not 100% correct it's not far off. I would test the colour to see if you are happy before adding to the model though. ------------
halus
Hello, thank you for the response. Interestingly, the paint you have suggested is also quoted for the first scheme beginning 1993, according to IPMS Canada: https://www.ipmscanada.com/1989/01/01/ipms-canada-canadian-colours-guide-1989/#ee5d61450ec857833 I will take it into consideration. One thing is for sure, finding an official source for current paint scheme on the CC-150 is rare as hen's teeth. Here is a great shot from underneath of the tanker version: Edited September 6, 2022 by halus
Snowbird3a
a bit of reading from Britmodeller; https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235112032-cc-150-polaris-overall-colour-which-hobby-paint-grey/
halus
Thank you, the Britmodeller link is actually a thread started by me. I will have to do a number of paint tests, as the opinions seem to be just 'best guesses' as to what appears in photos. Another grey option is FS 36320 Dark Ghost Grey. This was a possible colour on some of the noses of the CF-188. It is slightly darker than it's undersides (FS 36375 which was another suggestion for the Polaris but I find too light).
