soulfreak
Hello together, I´m searching for scale plans, blueprints, 3views etc for the drop tanks (230 Gal & 100 Gal) & the underwing pylons used on the Hawker Hunter (Trainer Variant). I hope someone can help me, I´ve searched already but had not really luck. 😞 Kind regards, Carlo
johnr
There is a walkaround here. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234943318-hawker-hunter-two-seater/ and I can send you a copy of a drawing (undimensioned) of the wing underside from Francis Mason's book, if you haven't got it. It's copyright so I can't post it here. There is also a Japanese guy who seems to know very much about Hunters who posts occasionally on Britmodeller. Would you like me to see if I can contact him? barkin mad
I don't think the image for the 230 gal tanks are correct in that image, it looks suspiciously like they are the tanks used on Swiss Hunters as it has strakes on the bottom and rear mounted fins. The 230 gal tank has neither of those. Full sizes of the tanks should be approx 20" dia x 128.5" for the 100 gal tanks and 24" x 196.5" for the 230 gal size. I don't know any dimensions for the tank the Swiss used (but I wouldn't mind knowing if anyone does) It is between the sizes of the other 2 possibly around the 120 gal mark. Here's a pic of a Hunter carrying the 230 & 100 gal size, you can see that the 230 gall is also fitted with a strut brace. https://www.bing.com/images/search?view=detailV2&ccid=A5hTjHnW&id=168A8E12753E8062413C445930529E00E5CC9771&thid=OIP.A5hTjHnWXXfBPNOSJsQWeQHaE8&mediaurl=https%3a%2f%2f4.bp.blogspot.com%2f-KdSwAdslOhQ%2fXNKMYHlPchI%2fAAAAAAAAKDI%2fdj1ExdNLbT4AgXj53sarKcf58joG1giJQCLcBGAs%2fs1600%2fXK151-D_Ksar_03-64_RD.jpg&cdnurl=https%3a%2f%2fth.bing.com%2fth%2fid%2fR.0398538c79d65d77c13cd39226c41679%3frik%3dcZfM5QCeUjBZRA%26pid%3dImgRaw%26r%3d0&exph=480&expw=720&q=hawker+hunter+tanks+pictures&simid=608025446746097541&FORM=IRPRST&ck=C03E2E08E41AB1519DC23FA0980D8C24&selectedIndex=8&ajaxhist=0&ajaxserp=0 In any case I don't think T7's ever carried the larger 230 gal tank, T8's did towards the end of their careers, but it was rare for them to do so. ---------------
