Tamiya F-4B VF-142 OOB

Recommended Posts

This my just completed Tamiya F-4B.  It is a pleasure to put together.  This kit is almost a snap together kit, everything fits nice and tight.

 Onto the pictures.

Great job Geoff. What paints are on this one?

Have you built any of the Z-M F-4's before? I have three in my stash, and was thinking of doing a "simultaneous" build - a Z-M J and Tamiya B at the same time (ish).

The bottom is a Tamiya Insignia White lacquer and the top is Model Master Light Gull Gray. (I still have a huge stock of Model Master paints.)  I gloss coat with Future/isopropyl alcohol 50/50.  Flat coat with Valejo Acrylic Flat. Details are all kinds of paints, tamiya acrylics, valejo acrylics, mission model, model master, etc.

I built the F-4D a couple years ago.  I botched up the landing gear bays (put them in upside down) and ended up building it gear up.  I have learned to really look at the directions when building these kits, doh!  The Z-M kits are great and the Tamiya is better.  I have several more Z-M Phantoms and a couple Hasegawa and one more Tamiya.  It is a great time to be a Phantom Phan.
