Mi-8MT/Mi-17 from Annetra, Trumpeter & Zvezda in 48th scale

Recommended Posts

Here are some close ups of that Annetra decal sheet for the floor of the passenger cabin in the Mi-17 helicopter. The decal has two decals with the markings.

Managed to buy this set at the Moson show on last weekend.

Best regards

Gabor

The reissue of the Mi-24 kit in Eduard box was an astonishing success, one that the boss never expected and was surprised very much. He is not a great fan of helicopters and so does not really venture into this territory. But those re-boxes did have an profound effect.

It looks like at last a decision of some sort has been made. The plan was for years to make a re-box of a Mi-8/Mi-17 kit in 48 th with Eduard bits and pieces in it. The only question was, which sprues of the three kits on the market will they use.

It looks like at last they made a choice and it will be the Annetra/AMK kit. Don’t ask me when it will be, for the moment it is only a plan from the company. I am sure they will make some extras for it. It was hopped that Eduard could replace the transparent with brand new injection moulded replacement parts. The original AMK version was so badly rushed into production that it is of little use.

At Moson this year Annetra had on sale a new Latin American boxing of the kit and it included the new vac- form cockpit front parts from Rob Taurus. But I know that vac-forms are not to every ones taste. Certainly a correct canopy and transparent parts with state of the art injection moulding technology would be most welcome.

This is what the Edu boss replied to the question few hours ago on a Czech forum:

If we make the Mi-17, it will be based on the AMK/Anetra kit. We will no longer cooperate with Zvezda.

Best regards

Gabor

Great news

I have the Rob Taurus glazing; it looks pretty decent, but I can't talk about the fitting.

I'm waiting for an engine/gear-casing detail set. It's a long shot, I know, but maybe Brassin will surprise us.
