habu2 Posted December 27, 2022 Share Posted December 27, 2022 Flap actuators are electric, not hydraulic, so it's not a "bleed down" issue. It has to be selected or a software preset position. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
fasteagle12 Posted December 27, 2022 Share Posted December 27, 2022 (edited) I don't think that they are strictly electric, at least not totally. I know that the horizonal tail uses a self contained hydraulic system, that is, all of the hydraulic fluid used in the actuator is recycled within the actuator assembly via a motor attached to it. I am pretty confident that the flap system uses the same type of setup. Each actuator assembly does have it own electrical control unit.
