diggle
I’ve begun work on this build which is a little daunting. My first task was to create 3 bladed props, achieved by adding a scratch built blade to the other 2 blades. working on interior now. My eventual aim is to have this model and my previous RFDS N-22 Nomad, seated on red desert base. I have added below a couple of photos….one of the completed N-22 Nomad…..and the other is a photo of the basis of the current project. For your interest.
Trojan Thunder
interesting project, I did not know there were any Bassets fly in Oz, The Nomad looks great, which kit did you use?
diggle
There weren’t many Beagle/Bassets in Australia to my knowledge….but the NSW Section of the Royal Flying Doctor Service flew 3….FDA, FDB and FDE. They started service around 1967 and were said to be very robust and reliable. These were replaced by N-22 Nomads in 1978…(MSE and MSF) ‘The Nomad kit was from Planet Models…..a resin kit….see image below…the paint and decals were my own. It reminded me why I dislike resin kits, but it was a labour of love….I flew in both types. Edited January 21, 2023 by diggle

Trojan Thunder
Ahh yes, the Planet Models kit, I had a very old Uncle Les Nomad for some years and off loaded it, it was a garage resin kit. I assume you are making your own decals for the Basset?
diggle
Yes to the decals. I won’t be able to mod the fuselage, but I think it will still look pretty representative of the aircraft of the time.
