Best Technique for Gold F-22 Canopy Coating?

Recommended Posts

Hello again guys!

I'm curious as to what might be the most realistic approach to doing an indium coating to the F-22 canopy.

How Micheal Phillips built his 1st FW F-22A here was spot-on, and whilst he says he uses a nail polish or some similar product, he does not specify what it is exactly.

But I want to hear from you guys! I want that reflective effect without adding flake or sacrificing canopy transparency TOO too much. What do you think? Methods?

Check out Janissary’s Hornet build.  He uses a Sharpie and isopropyl alcohol. I know Sharpie makes gold pens. You could give that a try.

Fascinating! The effect is subtle but pleasing.

Makes me curious about how that metallic gold would look!

Thank you! This is a very good idea.
