Eduard 1/48 Iraqi Mig-21MF

Recommended Posts

After many years of hobby inactivity, trying to get back with this 1/48 scale kit.

Eduard Mig 21MF, Aires cockpit, metallic pitot tube, masks and ladder for diorama.

First cut of the resin didn't go as I wish..

the Aires cockpit seems like it doesn't fit, not specified in the instructions so i have to cut the half bottom floor and make some  adjustments to fit it correctly.

I cut the eduard floor and supported the aires cockpit on the kit's plastic rail

I thinned the spine with a round file and test fitt everything. All looks good..

Hi Architecto,

First of all, welcome to the forum! Best of luck with your MiG…you’re off to a great start.

Are you planning a bare metal finish or camouflage?

Welcome Architeco

Good start.  Aires cockpits always seem to have fit issues.  Great solution when you thinned the spine.

I agree. Aires cockpit sets have great detail, but it seems like their engineers have never built a model using their products.
