Metal Props?

Recommended Posts

Aeroclub used to make white metal propellers, although that was a long time back; some might still be on eBay or similar.

If you want weight, though, why not slip a bit of lead (or fishing weights) into the fuselage?  The Beaufighter doesn't need nose weight and there's plenty of room.

I need the weigth to be on the propeller itself. I am installing electric motors in the kit and an adjustable speed control on the wooden kit base. Stock plastic propellers would revv up way too fast (unrealistic) while heavier ones would slowly start to turn because of the weight making a revv up look much more realistic.

@breadneck

Good news and bad news!

Good news: You are in luck, as Aeroclub did in fact make metal props for the Beaufort (P416), predecessor to the Beaufighter. Perhaps P410 will also work?

Bad news: Good luck finding any immediately available.  You could ask here on ARC, or Britmodeller forum, as well as ping ebay.co.uk and save the search with notifications.
