BastianD
Anyone knowing good detail pictures of the side panels of front and rear cockpit?
BastianD
Some progress today on the pit: - detached the rudder pedals and moved them backwards - further painted and detailed the ejection seats - worked on the displays front and back, some colours to add - further detailed the tub

BastianD
Started with glueing the 2 fuselage parts together, fit is without any issues.
BastianD
Priming and the first colours on flaps, gear bay doors and parts of the engines. Intakes slightly gray and do be finished with a light white layer.
BastianD
Unmasking the flaps and gear bay doors, and main gear bay. Quite ok, some tip ups here and there. For the wings, I see now that the lower parts behind the wheel bays need to be red, as that is where the flaps are coming on: well, let’s spray that later in red. next step is a gloss spray, and then panel line and brush weathering. Then the front gear bay can be installed in the fuselage, and the fuselage can be closed with the wing parts. Edited May 31, 2023 by BastianD
Pappy121
G'day Bastian, Good looking progress so far and a great subject choice. I don't know much about the Voodoo but are the 'holes' in the ejection seat headrests (the red bit) supposed to be there, they look like they may be sinkmarks? cheers, Pappy

You’re right about the sinkhole, shouldn’t be there. Will fill it and repaint, thanks for the sharp eye 😉

The seats is certainly very 'busy' looking isn't it? cheers, Pappy Edited June 5, 2023 by Pappy121

Nice work but don't forget to sand off the slime lights on the vertical stab, both sides of the fuselage and both sides of the nose. Canadian Voodoos didn't have them. You should also remove the blade antenna immediately behind the first piece of tape behind the cockpit. Just an FYI in case you're looking a for a bit more realism. Mike Thanks for the info Mike, much appreciated! Will take these steps when the fuselage and wings are closed, and sand off before priming the whole bird.
BastianD
After putting all panels etc in gloss coating, time to bring out the details of these well outlined parts with a proper panel line wash.
Dutch
Nice weathering on the undercarriage bays and doors.

BastianD
I cleaned some parts after the panel line wash, and gave it a mottled light grey appearance. Some details to finish, but on the right direction. Edited June 11, 2023 by BastianD
BastianD
And upper wing halves glued in place. Fit is quite good.

BastianD
Sometimes you discover afterwards what you should’ve done before… I glued the nose cone in place, while I first had to insert the front gear bay… so I’m gonna cut out this little bridge to slide the front gear in from the opposite side, and then re-glue it in place. Followed by the cockpit tub.
BastianD
And that step helped: - cockpit tub glued in place - front main gear bay slides in and glued in place When dry, the piece that was cut out will be glued in place again.
BastianD
Oh well, somewhere the fit should be bad 😄 Why they chose at Monogram for this type of construction is a good question. Perhaps they wanted the challenge the builder… Edited June 17, 2023 by BastianD
