Ed DeVivo
Ok so Im dong an F-15E, Desert Storm and have added some sand effects, brown weathering etc... The effect came out very good, however, I would like to tone it down a bit and although its been a very long time, I do recall thinning the base color, which in this case is Gunship Grey, and applying a light mist over the aircraft. Any suggestions on the ratio, or a better method? Many thanks! -Ed (I hope the image loads) 36AD3E37-61CB-445F-81B6-6A89B8568507.heic
modelingbob
Yep, to tone down "overdone" weathering, applying a light mist of the base color by airbrush is a great way to go. I usually start with 9 parts thinner to 1 part paint. Spray lightly and build up wherever you need it.

Wasn't sure about the ratio..
