colargol Posted April 2, 2023 Share Posted April 2, 2023 Hello, this is my third (and last) Tomcat from Fine Molds. This is the F-14D kit (even if I have used the air intake from the F-14A kit as I have build 3 Tomcats in parallel, 2 A's and 1 D). Decals are from Two Bobs (the grey color was very disappointing). The figurine on board is from Fujimi, missiles are from Eduard and the LANTIRN pod from Fine Molds. BRU-32 bomb rack are from Hasegawa. I have made some modification on the kit (cockpit, seats, canopy, landing gear and landing gear bays). I have chosen VF-213 because the cockpit was painted in black during a period at the end of the Tomcat career and it changes from the usual grey color. The acces lader is partially folded because the aircraft will be represented in motion on a flight deck. Painting was made using Gunze paint and weathering mostly using Ammo Mig panel line washes (various references) I hope you'd like it 😉 colargol Quote Link to post Share on other sites

I have used the Fujimi MD-3A tractor as a basis to make a more modern A/S-32-31A tractor. I printed the decals for the tractor. dsahling Posted May 29, 2023 Share Posted May 29, 2023 While I've personally never really gotten into 1/72 scale I do say though the mark of a really skilled modeler is to take a 1/72 and make it look like its 1/32 scale.
