F-16
It is time for me to retire my AO Safty Twin Cartridge Respirator after ten years of hard use. I am looking for a respirator mask that has a clip/buckle on the neck strap so I can take the mask off easily. Hopefully with good heavy duty straps as well. I only use it for building models. What are some good suggestions? Perhaps a 3M respirator of some kind? Please provide a Amazon link to the item if possible. Thanks for all you help. cruiz
I have a 3M twin cartridge respirator, very comfortable and easy to strap, it has a quick-release clip.

cruiz
Mine is very old and probably discontinued, but this seems to be very similar. https://www.amazon.com/3M-7512PA1-Professional-Respirator-Medium/dp/B000XBFJP2/ref=sr_1_1?crid=15CZ035DH7GSI&keywords=3M%2BProfessional%2BPaint%2BRespirator%2C%2BRecommended%2BFor%2BSpray%2BPainting%2BAnd%2BJobs%2BWith%2BSolvents%2C%2BLong%2BLasting%2BComfort%2C%2BMedium%2C%2BN95%2C%2B7512PA1-A&qid=1704303956&sprefix=3m%2Bprofessional%2Bpaint%2Brespirator%2C%2Brecommended%2Bfor%2Bspray%2Bpainting%2Band%2Bjobs%2Bwith%2Bsolvents%2C%2Blong%2Blasting%2Bcomfort%2C%2Bmedium%2C%2Bn95%2C%2B7512pa1-a%2Caps%2C147&sr=8-1&th=1 You also need these https://www.amazon.com/Personal-Protective-Equipment-60921-Particulates/dp/B00BT2SWTE/ref=sr_1_6?crid=2X2YAWR5XT9CZ&keywords=3m%2Bcartridge&qid=1704305726&sprefix=3m%2Bcartridge%2Caps%2C165&sr=8-6&th=1 Edited January 3 by cruiz Added info

Ichitoe
I have the respirator mentioned by cruiz, and I've been very happy with it. I have lung disease, so I need to be especially careful when painting and diligent with using it.
CFster
Be advised respirators come with a variety of filter cartridges, some of which aren’t effective against VOCs, or conversely ineffective against airborne particulates.

AircraftAddict
That 3M respirator Cruiz mentioned looks like a solid option. I've used 3M stuff before and it seems well-made. Just make sure to get the right replacement cartridges for what you need it for. Cruiz is right that comfort and easy on/off are important too.
eraucubsfan
Be careful purchasing the mask from Amazon. When we purchased some from Amazon for work, many were knockoffs. For something important to your health, you may want to go to Lowes, Home Depot etc. Take a look at the masks there and see which one will fit your face the best. Respirators come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Also, as others have said, make sure you have the correct filters on the masks. It depends on the type of paint you are spraying. This is the one I have for work: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009SB4YUY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It fits nicely on my rather large face. A couple of other notes. Always keep your respirator in the bag it came in or in another airtight storage container. Masks exposed to sunlight and other things can degrade faster. Also, always perform a seal check after donning the mask before use. The instructions should show you how to do so. And lastly, always clean the mask when finished according to the instructions. I work in the EOSH field and you wouldn't believe how gross people's masks get from not washing the inside etc...
