viperbite
Squadron and operation are not decided, maybe Black snakes from Indiana ANG or Flying tigers, both have great nose art, or jets form Davis-Monthan, purely depanding on how well the decals are dealt with. Curt B
Looks good so far, will be interested to see progress on the entire build. I'm going the same route, just got my GWH A-10C and have an MCC seat to use for it.

viperbite
Painting and weathering process. Personally I prefer post-shading to pre-shading, which I can easily adjust anywhere that I'm not satisfied, and you need to forecast the outcome when using pre-shading, you need to plan very well where to put bluish or where to put brownish different darkness shading before you spray the base color over them, which I think is even more difficult for me. So as usual, I started from painting the base color, shading, fading, weathering process to the end. Also I used AK's antiskip paste during shading process.

I thought the Phase Hangar fans for my Academy kit were great, but i must admit this fan is even better! Someone in another forum noted that the only minor 'nit' on these fans was that the 2 piece blades end up being a bit 'staggered' at the base, but I see you have a what looks like a dark ring around where that detail shows. It really was a very minor point, anyway.

To be specific, the snake nose-art and some stencils are from kit directly, the national insignia and the rest are from Twobobs. I'd say kit decals are good enough, but not as thin as Cartograf. Also, before decals, I'd added some scratches, some chipping, dirt, grease over some specific areas, then gloss coating over the areas that decals would be placed. Very close to the end of the long journey.
