hooter
Hi guys, Here is my recently completed Triplane for your inspection. I don't normally build WW I aircraft, but this was a Christmas present. I had some trouble with certain parts not formed or fitting quite right, but I got there in the end. I used Aviattic decals for the streaked camo and insignia, which worked really well. I found a way to do the propellor laminations by painting the base colour and then marking the dark sections with a dark brown pencil, which worked really well. All comments ( good or bad ) welcome. hooter
Thanks guys for the kind comments. I think i must have had a dodgy kit, as my friend built the same kit with no problems at all. I then found sprue shots on the net where everything looked fine. Mine had slots on the underside half of the top wing only partially formed, as were the holes in the bottom axle wing. Also the fuselage halves were a problem to fit together, despite checking and double checking the fit of the cockpit, etc. It came close a couple of times to going in the bin, but I stuck with it and I'm really pleased how it eventually turned out. If anyone has this kit it might be an idea to have a quick check before building. My friend has another to build ( Red, of course ! ) and after checking his is fine. I guess i was just unlucky . Right, I'll get me coat now ! 😁
