jonwinn
I have been busy for a while sorting out my health. Had the blue box cologard and it showed something so I had the "butt tunnel video" and only thing was a "pesky polyp". The the wife had gastrointestinal problems and that has been medicated and A O K...so far. I took time off to help my son work on his new house and rebuild a barn. Am back home and ready to try some "glue therapy". I want to give the 1/48 Hasegawa G-14, G-6? a try. Hartmann's winter white Hungarian bird from winter 1945. I have an old kit with super yellowed decals so I will buy aftermarket to replace the kit ones. Here is my slow start. If all goes well I will try my old 1/48 Fujimi Bf109K-4 next. jonwinn
Canopy framing sprayed, need to add prop, paint exhausts and glosscote for decaling. Edited August 6, 2024 by jonwinn
jonwinn
Ready to decal.
jonwinn
I started the decals, the instructions say use a white cross on the wing tops then paint the inside of the cross green. I found an extra green and white cross and cut the center green away from the white. The white was real "thick" and it should be slim so I will now put the slim white cross over the green center cross. I have no interest in painting over a decal, why not just make that decal? jonwinn
I added the slim white crosses to the wing top and the fuselage crosses. Gotta figure out the "tulips", instructions say see diagram, I have no diagram with my instructions so I guess I should contact the decal makers.
jonwinn
My goof, I found the diagram, it's a small little drawing , shows what decal number goes where. This looks interesting.
jonwinn
On with the tulip pattern. The hard part is the first decal, it's white on white. The second black decal is a bit easier to see.
Mr.Happy
Agreed that on Hartmann’s 109’s that tulip motif can be a bit of an hurdle to overcome. It looks like your making good progress. Mr. Happy
Cool Hand
I hope it's not too late for you to fix it, but you have the tulip too far forward. On this plane, the tulip begins on the front edge of the cowl hatches. The oil tank covers were solid white just like the spinner.
