Two versions of F-16 centerline fuel tanks

Recommended Posts

ResKit has just released two versions of centerline fuel tanks. Anybody knows what are those versions for? Is it for certain timeframe or for production blocks of F-16?
When or where should I use type 1 and 2? I see the external differences, but why those tanks are different at all?

Anybody can explain?

One thing for certain; the pylon in the image is bassakward! I would imagine the type 2 was a later or reworked tank. I don’t have a clue when that type came on the scene though

At least ResKit did their research. The pylon is in the correct orientation.

My bad! I stand corrected. I’m ashamed considering I was assigned to 4 F-16 organizations! As a side note, the adapter is mated to the aircraft for suspending the 300 tank but frequently ECM pods as well.
