Welcome to the world of model-hunting zombies.

For a simple weathering, I can reccomend you the LUNA watercolor pencils. They are color pencils with water dissolving leads. Simply shade off (do not sharpen too much or your paint will scratch!), then dip a cotton bug into water and rub along the color areas to achieve cool effects. This is effective for vent burnt marks and faded panels.

For panels and rivets, you can use the Tamiya enamel thinner with very little brown+black. Coat your model with acrylic/lacqeur paints. When wash with enamel wash.

For WWII aircrafts (which requires tons of skillful weathering), bullet marks and scratches can be made by undercoat with acrylic metal color and overcoat with enamel paint. Simply chip off the top paint with a toothpick. Sandpaper can also produce cool results.

Weathering is something you can never learn everything there is to offer. There are always new techniques to learn and discover.
