There are some excellent workshop photos on the net from different active AF units where technicians are working on Chaff Flare dispensers. Loading them up with live cartridges. From what I could see the red are rectangular cartridges for flares and the smaller square cartridges are for Chaff, and they have a white "back side" so to say. But the actual cartridges as such are a long metallic copper/bronze colour "rods", but what you will see of them on the aircraft when they are loaded into the dispensers are only the "working end" of them with red or white colours. boom175 Posted July 7, 2024 Share Posted July 7, 2024 The usual canon is flares have red caps and Chaff has a off white caps. However, a lot of times the local ammo folks will spray paint the caps a different colors so they can track different lots. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
