richy
the front landing gear is a very nice part of the hornet academy. It is made with many diferent plastic parts to glue around a metal strud it just need some puty at the juction and some scratch wires to be more realistic. you can keep some big parts in movement (see pict) to make detailing and painting process easyer i chose to keep the lower part (metalic) with no paint to preserve the metal texture it is quiet heavy for sutch a small part . the work on the wires is long and needs some precise references most of the wires are made with coper from electronic shops and the fix rings are made with plastic parts drilled and cuted like pearls. painted with the shiny «tomcat» gunze. richy
the shiny acrylic paint saves a future layer before weathering and decals. Decals are home made. and weathering is done with artist oil paint mixed with white spirit. The academy decals sheet is quite poor so if you want to be acurate with the DACCO references you need to do it yourselves. I chose an OPS version of the hornet with a heavy weathering so the gear goes with it.
richy
Some aluminium adhesive is used for the main rings During enduring freedom there is no time for washing...... that’s all for this week, i have been working hard on the exhausts but the post is not ready yet. Cheers.
