Andrew D. the Jolly Rogers guy
Another addition to my Stealth/XST/F-117A series I did earlier this year. It was the F-117 pilots' cover story; they could truly say they flew A-7's, at least by day. It handled similarly to their "real" mount. Fujimi kit, Aires cockpit, Wolfpak decals (sadly OOP). Scratch-built "Klingon Cloaking Device" pod, one of the great military disinformation pranks of modern times 😄 Edited August 4, 2024 by Andrew D. the Jolly Rogers guy
Andrew D. the Jolly Rogers guy
The "Klingon Cloaking Device" was a prop created for one of the "Nighthawk Corsairs'" deployments. The rumor mill was strong that this was the unit that flew the mythical Stealth Fighters in the Nevada desert. So, they took a napalm-cannister-turned-luggage-pod and did it up with a big flashing light, false aerials, nuclear markings and a "Reactor Cooling Fill Port" marking, creating a most sinister underwing store! The idea was to say "the A-7 is the REAL stealth plane, thanks to this nuclear pod!"
amato1969
Nice build, with a great looking pod and back-story! Frank
JackMan
Interesting story. And you did the a great job on the Fujimi kit. Looks very good with the Aires cockpit.
AD-4N
Incredible work. Fine job. Fujimi Corsairs after nearly 40 years are still the finest in 1/72.

I've done three, and have loved each and every one of them.
STEN8
Great work and great story. And couldn't agree more about Fujimi A-7 kits. Lovely. A-4s, F-4s, A-7s, their gorgeous F7U line....Fujimi was really turning out great plastic. Again, beautiful build and paint job. Harry Lutz, FL
