Spruemeister
Did you work out the square black tiptank data markings? I have continued to keep that in mind but haven’t had success either. Rick L.
KursadA
The Montana option is 53-2313, an F-89J. I will post a complete listing of all of the options on the sheet tonight. I had to give up on the tip tank markings. I hope someone will read the thread during a random Google search in a few years and remember that old photo on Grandpa’s album that clearly shows the markings on the tip tank in the background. René van der Hart
I want this set for the C version kit l recently bought. Your choice is simply perfect. Now l'm on the hunt for a J model kit. In the meantime l'm experimenting with Alclad metal paints on a Revell F-86D. René.

fasteagle12
Great selection! Unfortunately, I only have 2 kits in 1/72 scale. The sooner the better for that scale.

I bought the Revell kit and will announce the 1/72 version soon. Hooooorayy!!!!
Evil_Toast_RSA
Can one hopefully assume FV-679 based at Oxnard was involved in the (in)famous Battle of Palmdale? And whilst I'm at it, which aircraft was involved in Operation Plumbbob? If it's on the sheet, I would be one happy modeler!
KursadA
I am not sure if any of the aircraft on the sheet were involved in any of these events, sorry.
KursadA
I thought my F-111F sheet was going to do well - and it did, but the interest in the F-89 Scorpion sheet really blew me away. Half of the production run already gone during the preorder period. You should soon receive your decals and I am looking forward to seeing those forlorn Revell Scorpions being built. In the meantime, new sheets for ignored classics like the Scorpion are in the pipeline, and you will see a 1/72 version of this sheet soon.
Paul Boyer
Another fancy D model to consider for future sheets. Found this online. It's supposed to be 59th FIS(?) and it appears to be newly painted. Note it has BOTH the small U.S. AIR FORCE on the tail and the "billboard" version on the nose. All that yellow trim and several sizes of black stars, the bat, and the U.S. flag on the rudder. Wow!
Charlie D.
Looking forward to getting mine! Thanks for doing this one!

No stress, was hoping it would of been in some of your research material. Can't wait for Hannants to get them in stock. As for the 1/72 one, need to be quick to get the 2/3 I need when they get released! Academy decals are something else.
Dutch
My friend Nathan Dempsey built a F-89D of the 437th FIS involved in the "Battle of Palmdale" incident. He also built the F6F-5 drone. He had to hand mask and paint the markings and created custom decals. Thanks for being our Guinea pig, Nathan! Here is a link to his builds. Assuming his research was accurate, it looks like the aircraft he modeled 53-2679, is on the sheet. Is there a record somewhere of the serial numbers of the two aircraft that were involved? KursadA
Surely at least some of you should have an opinion or two about this sheet - it was a lot of work. Let me know what you think so I can improve the future classic jet sheets.

I'm glad there is at least one H model on there.

Listening to all out incessant requests, and taking risks. The F-89 sheet is going to keep us busy for a long time. Maybe this will stir up a new kit! Rick L.

I'm just giving you a hard time. I realize a small business can be a lot like juggling chainsaws on a unicycle. I agree with Spruemeister. Caracal is always the first place I go to look for decals and if you have the subject I need, I'm never disappointed.
