NASA/Gulfstream F-15 Quiet Spike

I assume no one made this spike in 1/48 for the F-15 Quiet Spike. 

 

Does anyone know the dimensions of the spike? I was able to find the length but nothing else.  I would like to build the Quiet Spike F-15 with it. 

 

I know it's ultra-specific but it would be awesome if someone like @arnobiz or @KursadA made the spike and the control panel to build it

I started designing it a while ago but the Gulfstream markings are way too big to ignore and don't exist as decals as far as I know 😕

They are on the 1/72 Caracal NASA F-15 sheet in both 1/72 and 1/48

What does a Quiet Spike do?

F-15 quiet spike had some unique markings. Not sure if they are represented in any decal sheets. Be sure to add the the yaw vane under the nose.

After first flight, the crew fixed the error in the blue/gold stripe. There was even a custom cover made for the retracted spike.

Interesting, I did not realize the probe length was variable (although it makes perfect sense)

 

Can the booms be extended/retracted during flight?  or are they fixed on the ground before flight?

 

The pdf attachment failed, forum software rules prohibit it.  Can you post a link to the document?

The probe was extended and retracted during flight.

Can I ask, is the nose cone of the F-15 itself modified, or is it simply 'chopped off'? The corrections to the blue/gold stripe give me the impression it is a lengthened cone (and then chopped off)

Reviving an "old" thread, @X-Plane Fan when were the pilots names added to the aircraft?  Most of the pictures on NASA's site the pilots names dont appear on the plane.
