NYPD Bell Jet Ranger Color

Getting ready to start a 1/32 NYPD Bell JetRanger build. I have the decals on the way(Which I assumed, the decals were full color, not white on the painted body). So, my question is, what color blue should I use to paint the chopper body? Thanks for your help.

it is most likely a Pantone colour, and not directly available in model paints. Your best bet is to mix a custom colour and in a large enough batch to paint the kit and still have some left for touch ups later. 

 

 It may also help to look into some model car forums as i am sure it is the same blue as their cars and you may find that reference more readily.

It was  a Ford paint color known as Grabber Blue, paint code J.  Tamiya TS-23 spray is an almost perfect match.

Thanks for the help of this forum and your replies. My other choice was to do an all black for the Atlanta Police Department, Was going to work for them but, Durham, NC picked me up.

I already pulled the trigger and purchased the Tamiya spray paint. Thanks for the help in providing choices of color to paint the Jet ranger. I'm doing the interior now. Have a Merry Christmas and God Bless you.
