I have been working on this kit on and off for a few months now. I am building it for a friend, who wants it finished clean with no weathering. How to make it interesting without weathering is going to be a challenge, but overall I like the kit. There are several places where careful dry fitting and propping with spacers were necessary. The photos will hopefully tell the story.

Nice work! Have this kit in the stash and it’s good to hear it’s not a Trumpeter dud.

Nice redo on the hinges!

Looking forward to the rest of the build.

Thank you all. Yes I have found the kit to be quite pleasant. Could be argued that the rivets are too prominent, and even more so after I depended them, but I've found not to be as bothersome as I thought  it would be. The fit is also quite good. The few places I used styrene rod pieces to extend and secure joints are the intake pipe to outer intake connection, the wing roots (to prevent flexing), and the wing assembly to the main fuselage. Those are the only problematic areas.

I am now working on the ordnance and will give the decals a try. I am also painting the bottom and the top with the main colors. What I have up is still a 'primer base' so to speak.

Thank you all. This will be in the PLAAF markings using the kit's decals but the Pakistani scheme looks quite striking also. Here is more painting and shading with the base colors H308 (top) and XF-80 (bottom), then marbling with lighter and darker tones of the base colors. I am shooting for a subtle tonal variation while keeping it largely clean. Gloss coat will blend and even things out more, so it will likely end up less pronounced than this.

Does the kit come with the dual AAM pylons?

Yes those are included in the kit.

Like the cockpit plumbing. That's quite the array of weaponry!
