bdt13
I see from ICM's 2025 catalog they are putting out a 1/72 F-16AM in Ukrainian markings with a PAG-14 airfield pavement to go with it. Does anyone know which base F-16 kit is provided, or has ICM made an entirely new mold?
Fiddler
No idea about your question, However if it's a rebox from another brand, it better be Revell. So I'll wait with you for someone who does know 😉
habu2
Scalemates has no info on an ICM F-16 kit but they show several other ICM kits as "new tool"
Wild Weasel V
Almost certainly it'll be the Revell F-16, they have reboxed many ICM kits over the years so it's logical that there'd be an exchange the other way. The 2025 ICM catalogue states 'new parts', probably pylons based on one of the ECIPS or PIDS versions, inferring that the base kit is a rebox. The lead time for a new tool wou;d be too short considering the jets were only 'in country' six months or so ago. In addition, I doubt the UAF would want a model company crawling over their latest acquisition so soon. The catalogue also has 'new' 1/72 Marder 1A3 and M2/M3 Bradley IFVs to follow up on the Leopard 2A6 which was the Revell kit so I'd expect their F-16 to be part of the same deal. bdt13
Thanks, everyone. I'll plan on this being Revell (a good kit) until we hear different.

Dave Williams
Looks like the instructions are out and available at Scalemates, as well as on ICM’s own page. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/icm-72145-f-16am--1594159 Scalemates says new parts, but doesn’t say the base kit. Looking at the sprue diagrams and instructions, it looks like someone else’s kit with a new ICM sprue that contain the ECIPS+ pylons, AIM-120s, LAU-129 rails, and IFF bird slicers. The parts look kind of primitive and don’t think they are the newer tool Revell kit. Looks like old Hasegawa from the mid 80’s. https://www.scalemates.com/products/img/1/8/4/165184-72-instructions.pdf
habu2
Agree, those sprue diagrams match the Hasegawa kit
Niels
Definately Hasegawa sprues for sure.
bdt13
Thank all for following up on this. The old Hasegawa molds have tempered my enthusiasm for this one.
Dave Williams
Best option in 1/72 is to just get a better F-16 kit and the Rush Model Kits set with the ECIPS+ pylons and Ukraine decals. https://plastic-models-store.com/rush-model-kits-st72001-1-72-ecips-pylon-for-f-16a-x2-decal-rmk-d72-011-rmkst72001?search=Rush model I’ve got the 1/48 set for my Kinetic MLU kit and can say the 3D printed pylons look very nice. Thank you, I'm considering this. Years with no ECIPS+ in 1/72 and now we have multiple choices!
