lavony
Getting started… after reading some reviews about the kit, I decided to add aftermarket to the cockpit & APU. For the cockpit I’m using the AIRES 4917 set, and for the APU it’s the flight path set. also attached is the decals sheet. the cockpit is great, but the fitting to the kit needed a gentle cutting. I’ve painted it light gray , the switches were painted black and then I did a black wash . the APU section fits great without any major issues. also attached are photos to compare the kit’s cockpit Vs the Aires. to be continued…

lavony
Work continues… for fitting the cockpit tab , some plastic removal is needed around the cockpit. the cockpit was glued to the fuselage, adding some plastic support at the bottom, to help holding it in place. the instructions call for 30 grams of, in order to prevent it from sitting on his tail, so I’ve used 6 * 5 grams fishing weights and glued them around the cockpit. than it was time to glue the fuselage and it’s getting a shape 😀 Edited February 1, 2025 by lavony

I tackled this kit some years ago, and it was not an experience I would like to do again. I guess it is already too late, but I think that APU Resin part is supposed to go under the kit plastic, with only a hole drilled for the actual APU exhaust itself, since the exhaust sits flush with the fuselage. This is how it looked on my build: I am looking forward to seeing how your build turns out. Cheers, Markus
lavony
Thanks for the comment Markus My APU set didn't came with instructions, so I did as it looked right… Hope 🙏 it'll look OK after primer and paint. Yossi
lavony
The fuselage is glued, and it’s time to add the cockpit resin parts. some filling is needed around, and since the gaps are too wide, I’ll use epoxy putty later.

Instructions from the BAM set which has a similar design (and with the vertical fin vents which add nice detail 😉) https://bam-models.com/bam48004-eurofighter-typhoon-ef2000-auxiliary-exhausts-instructions/ Arnaud

lavony
According to the good comments & reference photo, I’ve shortened the exhaust and filled the tranches… hope it’ll look better after sending and priming.

lgl007
Coming along nicely... but looks like a lot of work with this one... but hey, it's a hobby after all... makes it all worth while in the end 😉 -Greg

lavony
Time to attach the bottom wing to the fuselage. started from back and moving forward, as recommended in a video build I’ve seen. again , probably my mistake ☹️, but a large gap in the front of the intake. Will require fix…. Edited February 12, 2025 by lavony
delayar
Hi, Your progress looks good. This will be a great model once you are finished. And no, it probably was not a mistake. The intake section is a nightmare with this kit. Apart from some other missing details, especially in the region of the exhaust, this is the worst part of the kit and requires a lot of work to hide all the seams and gaps. That is the reason why I don't intend to build another one, even if by now there are a lot of interesting liveries to build. I hope that one day we will get a better kit of the Eurofighter. Cheers, MArkus
lavony
Fix of the intake gap is done using epoxy putty. wings are attached, and now it’s time for some putty filling , sanding & priming. hope it won’t take too long 😀
lavony
completed the kit/ 2 problems with the decals: 1- some mis-matches with the pattern lines. 2- the IAF emblam on the Right Hand side is written in the wrong direction (mirrored). it will be fixed in the coming prints, and I will correct it as soon as I'll get my replacement decal from Harald. the paints that i've used are Mr. Color C337 & C334. anothe small problem is with the Nose White Metal Landing gear. seems to Bend a bit, as seen from the Forward photo.
