Tracy White
More specifically Oahu, middle of January 1986. My grandparents took me to Hawaii my first time and while driving up the western shore to a beach with my uncle and cousins, we were overflown by a pair of OV-10s making rocket runs on a firing range (maybe Makua Valley). I'm thinking it was USAF OV-10As of the 22nd TASS because the memories jibe with gunship gray. and these photos look about right: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:OV-10A_22nd_TASS_taking_off_from_Wheeler_AFB_1984.JPEG https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:OV-10As_22nd_TASS_at_Wheeler_AFB_1984.JPEG The Caracal 48th OV-10A decal sheet has markings for a bird I'm happy enough with, but I'm wondering what an accurate load-out would look like. Seven shot pods? How many and on what stations, usually? I remember seeing smoke after the impacts, so maybe they were WP rockets? Any help would be appreciated. Tank
Wiki had this from a AF document in 1969 and a load out for the OV-10A. Hope that helps.
