Anyone here work OV-10 Broncos in the mid 80s?

Recommended Posts

More specifically Oahu, middle of January 1986. My grandparents took me to Hawaii my first time and while driving up the western shore to a beach with my uncle and cousins, we were overflown by a pair of OV-10s making rocket runs on a firing range (maybe Makua Valley). I'm thinking it was USAF OV-10As of the 22nd TASS because the memories jibe with gunship gray. and these photos look about right:

The Caracal 48th OV-10A decal sheet has markings for a bird I'm happy enough with, but I'm wondering what an accurate load-out would look like. Seven shot pods? How many and on what stations, usually? I remember seeing smoke after the impacts, so maybe they were WP rockets?

Any help would be appreciated.
