CMP48505 - 1/48 F-15EX Conversion Set

There is no replacement radome in the set, and we have no plans to add one. The GWH F-15 sprue C has two different radomes - part 39 has the electrostatic dischargers. The instructions  state that this part should be used.

That said, if the radome is indeed noticeably inaccurate, a replacement part could be a good idea for a separate future product. So far I have not heard about this from anyone else.

It is a well-known issue with that kit if you look into it, and for those of us looking for an accurate F-15, it matters.

Wow I missed it. Oh well hope to get a chance at the next set. Looks like this is going to be great seller for Caracal. In the mean time I should go get my kit. From what others have said I cannot use my Revell kits.

I kept checking all weekend but was in the middle of work when the release email came out after 10 this morning.  By noon when I checked on my lunch break they were already sold out.  Oh well, hopefully I'll have better luck with the next batch.

I'm sorry. My inbox is full of angry e-mails; and I am busy responding to them. I promise the second batch will be ready as soon as possible, and I will contact some of you folks to set one aside for you.

I hope my comment didn't come across as angry.  Selling out of your product is a good problem for a business to have.  I was just looking forward to giving more of my money to you. 😂  I have a few other builds in the queue before an EX anyway so I can wait for the next round.

Please put me on that list. I'm gathering everything else to build 007 now.

These are printed and shipped to me all the way from the old country; and I had to gauge the demand for it with a limited run. It clearly did well and I will soon have a lot more shipped to me.

Email sent concerning the set I received from the first batch of 10.  I promise it's not angry.

KursadA,

Would prepayment help gauge how many sets you need to produce?  I’d certainly prepay for a couple sets to avoid having to constantly check if the link is up yet.  Just a thought …

I will probably just open the ordering page again and allow you to place an order for the next batch, provided that you will wait until the next shipment arrives. I will announce it here a few days in advance so you will have ample time to place an order.

All the negative waves on Hyperscale re: this set and decals. Please keep all your products on your website.

It's always the same few people. It's OK. You can't make everyone like you or like what you do. It's not their fault. Who knows what else they are dealing with in their lives.

I care more about the fact that a lot of people tell me that I make a positive contribution, however small,  to their enjoyment of the hobby. People e-mail me all the time and tell me that how aircraft X on the decal sheet was their jet once, how aircraft Y on another decal sheet had terrible hydraulics and gave them trouble all the time, and how they built a model of aircraft Z and how it looks exactly like it did during the part of their bygone youth they spent in Da Nang. I have probably the world's largest collection of photos of brush-painted model aircraft sent from retirement homes. That's what matters to me.

I don't quite understand why I should erase every evidence of the existence of a sheet from the Web site once it is sold out. I have the original design files of every decal sheet I ever sold. I can get any of them reprinted, anytime I want. The information is on the Web site primarily for reference purposes.

The F-15EX set was designed by a very talented young designer for me, and is printed abroad. If there was a government regulation stipulating that anyone selling 3D printed items should deal with the printing himself, I must have missed it. Not that I was going to follow it anyway.

Now let's get back to the business of the F-15EX conversion set. I have a long order list to fulfil, and I will enable preorders for the new batch soon along with the new photo-etched items for the F-16. Folks in the UK and Europe should preorder their sets and Hannants and let them gauge the demand.

That is fair and "Gentleman's" response. You are indeed the better man.

Well said! Love your decals and now love the 3d items. As someone who had a vacuform business (mainly WWI aircraft in 1/72 and 1/48) for thirty years, I know exactly what and who you are dealing with, and the reason I gave up the business a couple years ago. You can't please everybody, but there are some people who can never be pleased even if you had a butler deliver it on a gold platter out of a limousine.

Well, for what it's worth, I think Caracal is right up there rubbing shoulders with the best!! Keep up the great work, and I will keep buying!!

Just read the Hyperscale thread. Some people need to get a life.

Kursad I think I got my order in time, and if I did I would be willing to let someone else take it and I will take a later issue.  Its only one set, but would allow at least one more person to get this set sooner rather than later

Found the thread on hyperscale, ol Jennings at it again.  He is one miserable individual.

Caracal makes a fantastic product, decal or 3d printed.  Well worth the wait and money

@mike_45, Mike are you saying JH is "RoadRunner" or "SfanGoch" on Hyperscale?  Yes, sad. Agreed, I am happy to wait. K/r, Dutch
