jack72
I am changing a standing figure to a sitting figure and have cut various parts of the waist and legs to form them the way I want. In between the plastic sections, I have put Scupley modelling clay. see link to see the product I use the Sculpey product because it is very easy to use and doesn't harden so I can work with it for hours or come back days later before I am satisfied. However to harden it needs heat to cure. I need to put this in the oven for about 15 min to cure but the lowest temerature in my oven is 175 C. I was wondering if anyone knows if that will warp or melt the original plastic parts of the figure I can use a hair dryer but it takes a very long time and still don't get it hard enough for my liking. MoFo
Styrene starts to soften at around 85 - 90C, and fully melts somewhere between 220 - 250C. There would probably be quite a bit of deformation baking it for those times and temperatures, unfortunately.
