dai phan
Hi all, While waiting for it to arrive in 2 weeks, is there anything I can use in the mean time with Mr Color lacquer ? Thanks Dai
lockheed2004
Why are you waiting 2 weeks? Mr color thinner, both the standard and the leveling varieties, can readily be had in the USA. Mr color paint is best thinned using their own thinner.

Helmsman
Laquer thinner from any major hardware store works about as well. Way cheaper too.

I found out hardware thinner works well as cleaner but for as thinning agent, it attacks the plastic. Dai
Helmsman
It doesn't like overspray for sure, but with proper amount of spray it is just fine.

Alternative 4
Tamiya lacquer thinner works with gunze paint. Tamiya's retarder type thinner is good too, gives a better finish with Tamiya paint than Mr leveling Thinner does.
annie.shikinami
gaia notes has equivalents for regular mr color thinner, mr leveling thinner, and rapid thinner. you can also get them in 1L size bottles. i use them interchangeably with the mr hobby stuff and find they work just as well. last i checked newtype had most of them in stock. Scott Smith
I know this is an old thread, but I think it’s Squadron that announced a leveling thinner they are now stocking with their brand name on it. Works with anything Mr. Color Leveling Thinner works with.
