AH-1G Cobra cockpit - another question

What could these two items (3D8) be?

I’m thinking map lights, perhaps.

But if so, would they have some kind of coiled cord going from them to somewhere?

 

I have looked in the Squadron WA and trawled the webs but can’t find a good view of these items in place.

I think they are map lights and a wire coil would be appropriate to add. 


Ray shows it here, go to the bottom with the backdated cockpit. That does suggest that maybe you can leave it out all together.

I wonder why it says EXPERIMENTAL on the armor plate, as I believe they were standard on all Vietnam Cobras.

As I recall that is way to comply with FAA regulations and not about the equipment etc.
