Drew T.
Hi everyone, here’s my latest completion, Tamiya’s excellent F-14A. You can read about the build at the link below: Even with all the aftermarket goodies I added, it all went together nicely. I probably spent more time with the weathering than any other modern aircraft I’ve built, but I’m satisfied with the result. On to the pictures, hope you enjoy! Thanks for looking! Bob Beary
Superb result!! Wonderful work with the weathering. Photograph that in the right setting and it would easily pass for the real deal. Great source of information and inspiration for my build. Thanks for answering my question in your build article. Bob
phantom
Very nice, different grey on the tanks is a very nice touch.

GW8345
Awesome build!!! The weathering is spot on and not over done. If that bird doesn't take 1st place in a show the judges are blind! GW

kap64
What colors did you use for the exhausts?
Drew T.
I started with Gunze Super Metallic 2 Super Titanium 2 and darkened it by overspraying with Gunze GX109 Clear Brown. I then added a slight bluish tint with Aclad Transparent Blue. For both the brown and blue, I tried to vary the effect by varying the amount of brown and blue tint on each exhaust pedal to match reference photos, although it's hard to see the effect in my photos. Hope this helps!

RichB63
I meant to weigh in a long time ago, but for some reason I didn’t. Anyway, congratulations Drew on another superb build. I really enjoyed watching it come together. Your work is very inspiring to say the least! Any clues yet as to what sort of project you’ll take on next? Whatever it is, I’ll be sure to follow along. Drew T.
Thanks Rich! I'm currently working on Hasegawa's A-7D with all the Reskit goodies. I'm posting on Britmodeller now since that site seems to get more traffic. Curt B
Beautiful, beautiful build! Really stunning! I have several of the 1/48 Tamiya F-14As (late version), the Tamiya F-14D and the AMK F-14D, none of which have yet been touched/built. I can only hope that at least one the 4 that I have will look even 10% as good as yours. Spectacular!
