My recent completion.  I was trying to make a significant upgrade to the Monogram F-105 by adding some Reskit products designed for the HobbyBoss kit.  Mostly they can be made to work.  I added some bombs from the Hasegawa bomb set for

2-2000lb and 2-500lb bombs.   Decals are Furball and they worked very well and there are 14 more options left to build!

The nose cone was slightly different diameter which caused me to do some modifications to the whole area forward of the windscreen.  I think the modifications helped with the look of the nose adding the curve that is characteristic of the 105 which Monogram depicted more as a straight line to the nose cone.  This was accomplished by adding some sheet styrene to the area in front of the windscreen and sanding and shaping it to a curve.  However it wiped out all the detail on the nose cone so that was kind of a disappointment.  The Reskit pitot tube is quite resilient as I knocked it against many obstacles while painting and it never broke off.

I had an idea to prime the whole model with Alclad black primer with the idea of then lightly sanding the model afterward to highlight the black panel lines.  This worked very well but when I sprayed a lacquer-based gloss coat on to prepare for decaling it reactivated the black primer that then worked its way to through the paint in some areas.  Oh well!

I really like this kit.  I wish someone would make some aftermarket upgrades to bring it into the modern age.
