GBU-54 laser guidance nose section

Not sure if this is the right area but I will ask. Can a DSU-33 proximity fuse for the JDAM series be also used for the laser guidance nose section of the GBU-54 LJDAM? They look almost identical except the laser guidance nose is black and the proximity nose is a tan color. Just curious

Yes, the DSU-33 is externally the same as the DSU-38 (GBU-54 Laser Detector) except for the laser sensor spot on the nose.

 

If you are converting a GBU-38 into a GBU-54 you will need to add the wiring conduct that run's along the belly of the bomb and the conduit retaining bands.
