ARE THEY THE SAME?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I just bought a paint dryer for model building. But I have to return due to its cheap construction and poor performance. But during my research, these "paint dryer booth" is nothing more than over priced, limited functions typical food dehydrator. These made for models have settings up to 125F but the food hydrator can go much higher with more options. So why bother with cheap, over priced " paint dryer" while you can get a nice quality food hydrator with being cheaper and more functions right? You need to set the settings NOT higher than 50 C or 125 F to prevent melting but other than that, these general food hydrator will do just fine. I found out these "paint dryer" machines are nothing more than cheap hydrators with maximum temp setting at 50C. Comments? Dai

Unless you are using enamels to paint with, I don't see the need to use a painter dryer. Acrylics and Lacquers tend to dry pretty quickly.

True but NMF lacquer tends to take a day before masking is done. With this perhaps I can go and mask in about an hour. Dai

Forget about those expensive "paint dryer booth". Get the food dehydrator instead like mine. Way cheaper and much more higher in quality. Make sure you do not go over 45 C or 113 F. Dai
