I've seen main gear darkened by what I always assumed was possibly break dust but what about the dark color of the tailwheel gear? Exhaust staining? Quote Link to post Share on other sites
cruiz Posted December 14, 2025 Share Posted December 14, 2025 Good question, maybe it looks darker because of the shadows. I doubt it's exhaust staining because the gear and tailhook are enclosed in-flight. If I had to choose, I would use the same color and finish of the main wheel hubs.
