swimmer25k
Chris, Will your intake set and the Aires wheel wells work together, or will I have to get out the razor saw? Also, do you recommend the FODs in position, or keeping the compressor faces visible. I do have the Eduard set with the FODs. Do you know if they fit in your intakes? I'm out of town and my wife received your shipment the other day. So, I thank your for processing my order so quickly. However, my wife doesn't share our enthusiasm when "airplane junk" comes in the mail, and didn't understand why I wanted her to open everything up and describe what was inside. Thanks, Chris
haneto
Hi,Zactoman I received my combined set from you today. Though I'm quite tired after the work,I just felt refreshed by your GREAT works! The detail and the combination is even better than I have imagined! Thanks a lot and we really owe you so much...... Hope to see more of your nice products!
skyhawk174
Chris It was so good to hear about the intakes being ready. They look absolutely beautiful on your site and seem to be a real labour of love. I am glad I waited a bit to get all 3 sets, so I can save on some shipping (sorry I'm cheap ) I've been trying to get the aftermarket stuff for the Su-27 but it has been proving difficult. I've got several of the goodies but I am still short the Aires exhaust set. They have been out of stock many places. Must be all the guys on this thread buying them up I will be ordering the combo set this weekend and I certainly don't mind the wait for such a quality product. Oh by the way your factory floor looks like the Ford plant. New motto "Su-27s R Us" :P
dehowie
G'day Chris Got my intakes yesterday. Simply amazing work mate without doubt. Hope your ready for a flood of orders as they are without a doubt one of the best resin sets i have ever seen bar none. Great work and your dedication at getting them done is more than appreciated. Cheers Darren Howie PS I'll need three more!
ramcdaniel1
Holy correction set Batman!!! I got the Intakes in the mail the day before yesterday and WOW! You truly the King of Resin. In fact in some cultures I'd say you are the God of Aftermarket Su-27 parts (Zactomanuka or something). Seriously Chris, the set arrived in perfect condition. The detail is THE best I've seen in any other resin set on the market. Thanks for all your hard work! :) Thanks Ken!!! Doh! Pete "Pig" Fleischmann
Hello Gents! ...I just gotta jump in here and add my 3 cents (inflation ya' know ) Chris sent me a set of intakes, and I can't eat! My jaw hit the floor and shattered when I opened the box. "Unbelievable" is the only word I can think of to describe the quality and craftsmanship of his work.. Worth twice the money..Beautifully packed..immaculace castings...Exactly what we've come to know as "standard" from Chris. A huge talent that we'll here more from no doubt. As soon as someone gets around to doing some Ukrainian decals for this beast (ala Patricks gorgeous jet) It'll move up the list...got a few models of the worlds greatest fighter to knock out first (Viper jets :D ) ...besides, I need something to chase the Flanker around the room! Regards, Pig
Zactoman
...got a few models of the worlds greatest fighter to knock out first (Viper jets ) ...besides, I need something to chase the Flanker around the room! It's vulgar talk like that that leads to flame wars and lock downs! I'm tempted to hit the "! report" button! Thank you Pig (Chek, Robert, Darren, Skyhawk, Haneto, and others!) for that flattering review :D Chris, the parts should work with the Aires wheel wells with minimal modifications, check the builds in the in-progress forum... The Eduard FOD guards are made to fit the Trump intakes and could be trimmed down to work. However this would difficult. Besides, the Eduard parts have the vertical ribs and horizontal ones at an odd angle to fit the odd Trump parts. They should be 90 degrees/square with one another. I'm planning to drop my FODs to show off the ducting and compressor fan... Chris
Flankerman
I'm planning to drop my FODs to show off the ducting and compressor fan...Chris Sounds like a line from a western - 'Drop yer FODS'............... Ken PS - The Eduards etched-brass FOD guards are too narrow for a correct-width intake. I know 'cos I tried to widen mine to fit my modified intakes - but gave up in the end. All this was in the dark ages - before Zactoman intakes were available... :D
Zactoman
I know 'cos I tried to widen mine to fit my modified intakes - but gave up in the end. All this was in the dark ages - before Zactoman intakes were available... Actually, my intakes have a double-wall construction in that area with the resulting inside width very close to the original Trump FOD guards, so I'd guess the Eduard might be close to the same width... I'm still not convinced that photo-etch is the way to go (not that I would change things at this point...). It may look cooler, but as discussed earlier in this thread, the actual mesh is so fine that you can't see the fan through it anyways and in 1/32 would be impossible to photo-etch. Unfortunately, the resin parts are much harder to paint than the photo-etch would be...
brian.perris
Hello All, I've been keeping up with all the -27 builds and have almost all the good parts for the bird--to include Zactoman's parts. My question now revolves around the purchase of the Aires burner cans and wheel wells. Are they that much better than the kits parts??? Are they worth the price??? TIA, Brian
