Guest turok_t
hey guys, for dilution of oil paints to perform a wash on recessed lines, do u use White spirits or Turpenoid, because i tried one with rubbing alcohol, and it left really bad stains, as well as water. which one do u suggest? and where can i get these types of dilution? kuma
Hi turok_t! For oil paints the right thinners should be turpentine or diluents from the manufacturer of the paint. Alcohols or water won't work because you need a hydrophobic diluent and both are hydrophilic. greetings Martin
Guest turok_t
would turpentine damage the plastic if it is used ?
Ricardo
For oils you have two options: Turpentine and Turpenoid. The flow is much better with turpentine than turpenoid but turpentine is much 'hotter' than tupenoid and will lift your paint if you don't glosscote it before. HTH, Ricardo-.
