BlackDog
Do you think/have tried to use Alclad II to paint small details with a brush (I would like to try it on some engine details on my Wildcat, like chains,, tubing, etc...). Or is it better to stick to standard acrylic/enamel paints ? thanks for your help ;)
Steve Filak
It might very well work, but it's so thin that you're going to have a hard time controlling it. I occasionally use small amounts of MM Metalizers in brush painting applications, but only in very small areas. Plus, the MM stuff is way thicker than Alclad, so it has a tendency to stay put. My suggestion would be to stick with the regular metallics - their performance is far more predictable. ;)
MoFo
Plus, Alclad is a very potent lacquer, so you run a good risk of melting/crazing the plastic with the heavier applications brush painting requires. Probably not a good idea in all.
Ricardo
Personally I haven't tried it but I know the manufacturer recommends it for airbrushing only. Ricardo

Probably not a good idea in all. The other thing to remember is that it's not going to have the same sheen when it's brush painted, even if it does work. You'll notice this if you try brushing MM Metalizers, which will work OK in certain applications, but I certainly wouldn't try to cover any large areas with it.
