Drew T.
I just realized that I forgot to add nose weight to my skyhawk, but now the fuselauge and wings are assembled B) . I really don't want to crack open the model to get the weight in. Instead, I was thinking of using some kind of heavy liquid-like substance that I could squirt into the hole in the nose wheel well where the gear strut attaches to. Anybody know what would work well for this, or have any other ideas? I really don't want to use a rod to prop up the model when finished. Thanks for your help!
Ricardo
the other option is to carefully dremel the inside of the parts to reduce the weight in the front. Another option is to make a display stand and glue it to the stand. Ricardo
Andy Mullen
Hare brain suggestion? Carefully cut off nose at the allround seam line, fill with weight, then reattach nose. Dont know whether this would work or not as Ive not tried it myself, and never having done an A4 I coudlnt say if there is a seam on the nose. HTH
Scalephantomphixer
Drill a small hole at the bottom of the radome, large enough to allow adding round lead balls. Then inject with a syringe some epoxy. When the stuff is dry, putty and sand the hole, a drop of paint, et voilà ! Done HTH, Pierre
Drew T.
Thanks, everyone. I think I'll try drilling a hole in the nose and adding weight. I hate to do it, but I want the model to sit correctly on its own, and it looks like there's no perfect way to do it without harming the finish. Thanks again!
